    Question Honing Question

Hi, this may sound like a terrible idea, but I just want ask. What do you think of using a knife sharpener or standard whetstone?

A knife sharpener will not put a good edge on a razor, they aren't fine enough and aren't at the right angle either.

Any whetstone can be used to hone a razor if it has been properly flattened, but you will need something 8k grit or finer to finish the edge before shaving with it.

Which whetstone were you thinking of?

BAD, BAD, BAD idea, do some more reading in this part of the forum on honing....
Razor hones generally start where knife hones leave off....
In fact the only time to go below a 4000 grit stone is when a. you are re-seting bad bevels b. repairing damage....
