Thanked: 84Hi Gary. there used to be a lady on here who had an e-shop that sold NOS hones. I got my barber hone at a flea market. I think your best chance really though is evil-bay, as it is for most things. The only problem is that you have to compete with the whole world to win.

Gary, I have a small collection of barber hones at the moment and I am willing to cull the herd, the herd includes the following:
1) SWATY wAHRING BEI WIEN-aUSTRIA
1)swaty-pIKEW/ FISH LOGO
1)bARBERS RAZOR HONE-similsr to swaty
1)WINNER-2 sided combo
1) CHAMPION-Asco brand Carborundum
1)DURO-razor hone-carborundum
1) box of 4 @ approx.1/8 thick each new in box Velvet edge
PM if interested and I will try to help you out.
@ silver blade from wales I believe I got the last swaty fom tilly/redtrader and IIRC she sold out of everything else shortly thereafter, maybe some one knows more.Last edited by nun2sharp; 10-07-2008 at 07:15 PM.

I own the first 4 you mention and a carborundum. Out of the first 4 I find the first Swaty you mention as being the finest grit/smoothest. The Swaty Pike and the Winner IME are on the coarser side of barber hones. The Winner is pretty porous. Which out of those you mentioned, for those that are curious would be the finest grit?
And it's my understanding as well that Tilly deactivated her site and no longer sells hones. Although, IIRC, someone had said they called her recently and she had a handful more and they bought a few from her?
