Thanked: 0Taking our a slitght warp in an old blade
i have an old razor i've been working on honing up to use. i've noticed a slight warp in the blade and was wondering what the best way to take this out was? I was thinking about using a cousre stone until the warp is gone, but worry about taking off too much metal. any suggestions?

Thanked: 0Thanks for the info Jimmy! That's what I've been doing thru far. Because the warp is so slight, I didn't know if it would be possible to be ground out with a course stone or not. The razor in question was in my grandfather's medicine chest and doesn't look like it's been used in a while (tang says it's a Victory #51). Other than the warp, it looks like it would be a nice daily shaver.

I have honed a couple of warped razors successfully without having to regrind or anything. That rolling x will do it. I wouldn't bother trying to change the spine. I used 1 layer of tape on the spine as a matter of fact.
