Default My razor need honing badly

Let me start by saying that this is my first post in this post. I would also like to thank those responsible for maintaining such a great resource. I have a Filarmonica 13 that I would like to shave with. The problem is that the edge is irregular and the blade is completely dull.

The question is: should I try to hone it myself or should I try to get an expert to do it for me? I have never tried honing a razor before. I would be still be game to try if I can get some suggestions on equipment and technique. If the latter is the way to go, can you suggest a person or company that would do it for me?

    Thanks,

    Al raz.

This is a job for a pro. I'm still not quite happy with the edge I've put on mine.

Thanks for the kind responses. Sure the experts have spoken, I should not try to learn about honing on this razor. The question is, who should I talk to about this job? I am fairly new in this forum to know who is reliable or not. The least I want, is to be burned in my first week here. I have received a couple of PMs offering help but I just do not know enough, sorry. If you could suggest a couple of names of people that would be appropriate for this job, I would be very appreciative.

    Thanks,

    Al raz.

About honing: I would probably buy a pretty cheap razor and a Norton 4000/8000 to practice with, sounds good?
