kitchen knife sharpening gizmo
I was not sure which forum to post this in but I figured who better to ask than a bunch of honing geeks. What is an easy to use or a good gizmo type sharpener for kitchen knives? It would be for my mother who has a habit of not using cutting boards and is h##ll on edges. I normally sharpen her knives on a coarse crystalon. I am not looking for the ultimate edge just an easy to use tool that would make a good toothy edge. I am looking for something that she could use herself.

Rapala sells a two-sided ceramic 'v' type sharpener that is easy and works well. They're cheap too. Most sporting goods stores seem to carry them.

Lee Valley has some really good knife sharpening tools - my parents use them and get very good edges.
