Well I just finished a search and I couldn't find where this has been asked yet. What grit do you figure a Norton Lapping Stone to be?

The reason I ask is while washing mine off the other night after a honing session I realized that the back of that stone since flat would probably be a very aggressive cutter for stubborn bevels? I usuallly use a piece of Schrade Hone Steel that I've had for years for my hunting knives and still have not been able to get an answer as to the approximate grit equivalent of the hone steel?

Stupid?
