Thanked: 1How does this honing look? (pics)
This razor was in pretty bad shape when I started with it. The bevel was 100% non existent. It was smiling, but all misformed.... see pic
BEFORE
NOW
(the bevel is there on the right, but the flash didn't get it, however it is more narrow then the left)
Started with my DMT 8C (realized 1k wasn't going fast enough lol), Norton 1k, Norton 4k, Norton 8k, Chinese 12k, Strop
(checked the bevel with my stereo microscope, the edge is consistent and nick free)
Shaved well in my opinion. I'm a bit concerned with how it looks. what do you guys and gals think?

Width of the bevel is of secondary importance really. Even if the blade is only slightly warped or a bit thicker towards the toe you will inevitably get a difference in bevel width. Not to worry if the blade is equally sharp along its entire length.

The bevel width is a function of the straight line between where the spine and forward edge are contacting your hones. Not much you can do about that. I never worry about it myself.
Looks really nice now. Great work!
