Honed by a "honemiester" here may be worthwhile.

I have never been impressed by the "pre-honed" offerings from most vendors...

Yes, but buying from classic shaving or straight razor designs would meen that Lynn probably would hone it.Wouldn't it?

I've never had one from there, so I can't say what it would be like. I do not know to what level he finishes a razor (i.e. leaves it at the Norton 8k level, or what?....)

I am glad that I got 3 honed by Lynn early on and 2 honed by The Topher. It gave me a benchmark to shoot for in my own honing as well as something to use until I could hone a razor well enough to satisfy my needs. If you are honing well enough now it is probably not necessary but it would give you something to compare your work with and another good razor to use and enjoy.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

There will be a honing survey, where you can enter a home-honed razor. The razors will be individually assessed by a jury of experienced straight razor shavers, and compared to each other for several criteria. For fun, there's a contest involved as well. I hope we can start accepting submissions in about a month from now.
