    Default 3M Film Replacement

    After reading this great tutorial I decided to give the film a try. So far it's been great and I'm getting a much smoother & polished edge than I got off a DMT and a 12k. I'm wondering how long can I expect the film to last. I've done maybe 5 razors on my current batch. Has anyone used this long term?

    Keep using it until it no longer works.


    I use diamond lapping film, which I would imagine lasts longer than the silicone carbide (or whatever it is they use in the 3M films). It gets smoother with use, but is still effective after months of use.

    So far I've done about 12 with my current piece You'll probably wear your out before I do mine though, as I haven't gotten any new razors in quite some time.
