    Default I screwed up

I ordered Yesterday a norton 4/8 and a dmt1200k to set bevels and lap the norton as was suggested by many people here. The only problem is i realized today that i ordered the 6x2 dmt not the 8x3. It realy doesnt matter as far as honing that is plenty of size but to lap my norton and other hones i have with i dont think it will work to well. Im sure i can probably return it but thats always a hassle. Anybody think i can still use it to lap the norton. I have a coticule and a few barber hones that will be ok with that but the norton is large. Maybe i should just keep it and order another the right size and have both. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

if i was unhappy and if there was a solid return policy, i'd send it back. ... unless you have plenty of $ to buy another.

I would return it if you weren't happy.... But if you're keeping it I'm sure you could use it to lap bigger stones. I've lapped several larger stones with a norton diamond hone thingy (kind of like the DMT, but not the continuous plate, the one with the holes in the metal surface). It's only a 6x2. But, I would prefer to use a larger one to lap stones, as I have on numerous occassions considered getting a nice 1200 DMT.

I would see about returning it, I think you'd be much happier with the larger one. But if you can't, you can certainly make do with the smaller one.

It may be your goof up. but why not rectify it now instead of later, send it back now.
