    Default A question

My razor mows arm hair fairly well off the DMT 1200, but when I progress in grits the armhair-mowing ability diminishes. I'm thinking it may have to do with the diminution of the sizes of microscopic teeth, and hence the hair-grabbing ability of the razor (when I attemp HHT after final stropping, the razor has a hard time grabbing the hair, but when it does it really splits it with great ease) or it may be that I'm scewing up with higher grit stones.

    What do you think?

Your right about the teeth. They are getting smaller.
Regarding the HHT, not everyone can use this test. If a person has fine, limp hair then this is usually a no go. BTW, a razor should pass the HHT off the 8000 grit hone, that is a better test of sharpness. But I have hair that's suited to the HHT. I suggest you develop your sense of the TPT in addition to the HHT.

This is way to early in the morning!

Sounds to me like you're over honing slightly. I's use less pressure and fewer laps as you progress up in grits and see how that works.
