Thanked: 23Thiers-Issard paste
I'm sure this has been answered, but I can't seem to track down an answer.
Does anyone know the actual grit of the Thiers-Issard fine paste? It claims to be around 10'000, but does anyone know if this is accurate or what the size is in microns?
Right now my final honing is done on .5 micron chromium oxide, and I'm looking to step up a touch in sharpness. Will the paste make a noticible difference?

Pinnacle makes some 0.3 micron honing film. I haven't tried it yet.

The TI paste will not be a step up from chrom ox.I have both pastes, believe me. Also, they really don't do the same thing tough. What you could to(I have done this with some sucsess)is using the TI paste for 15-20 laps after you finish on 8000 grit hone.(I don't know if you have a finer hone, you didn't mention.) The TI paste is pretty abrasive, so you will gain some keeness, before smoothing the edge with the chrom ox.Hope this helps.
Kristoffer.
