Default 5/8 Boker King Cutter - Wow

I purchased a 5/8 Boker King Cutter last evening - edge was in good condition with a fairly decent bevel established but was rather dull. I did a few strokes on 1000x to ensure that bevel was fully set then did a conservative pyramid on the Norton 4000/8000. Followed that up with 3 strokes on barber hone, about 30 laps on pasted paddle strop, about 30 laps on newspaper, then 80 on hanging strop.

I put a bit of water on my leg and lightly drew the blade along to reveal a very bare path (actually two bare paths!). I then lathered up one side of my face (I had another to to test so saved one side for it) - very smooth, very close irritation free shave.

I've honed 3 or 4 of my own razors in the past few months but none took an edge so easily or shaved so smooth as this one. Certainly made my day.

Congrats man! Honing your own razor is so rewarding! I got a new one coming in the mail tomorrow. I'm hoping for similar results :P
