another ding
Oooooh noooo...
Last night I was shaving with my Puma.. not the best shave because I honed it myself.. it was sharp enought to do the WTG and XTG but it felt hars.. but not the harshness I'm getting used to..I stropped it on CrO and I heard a sounds that wasnt right.. checked the edge but couldnt find a problem and I didnt remember having an accident with it..so I continued the shave..and finished it with the shavette..
So after the shave when I was cleaning the razor I saw the problem.. a small ding on the edge.. so its back to the hones with this razor..
I was so disappointed that I didnt even make SOTD photo.. maybe I'll make some tomorow after honing it up again..

Thanked: 1212Yeah, if the strop sounds weird, there's always something going on.
I once took a razor to my dry, unprepped face. I had shaved in the morning and noticed when I got back from work, 8 hours later, that I trimmed my mustache unevenly. So I grabbed my razor and trimmed it a little, without lathering. I made three small nicks in my blade. They were discernible with the naked eye.
Are you going to hone it out, or breadknife it out?

I've breadknifed it out..
I had set the bevel with too much tape anyway(used ducktap in stead of electrical tape) so it wasnt too bad I had to redo the bevel again
it was gone pretty quickly(I think about 10-20 laps on the DMT F ...but setting the bevel entirely took ages.. in the middle it was there pretty soon but the heel and tip didnt want to make a nice bevel..I even went back to a coarser hone.. than back to the 1200. when that was done it wasnt all that hard anymore..
