Well a couple of weeks ago I found a coticule http://straightrazorpalace.com/basic...ification.html. I had questions on the backing weather it was slate or BBW. During the post I contacted Ardennes Coticule and asked when they started using slate for backing. The reply I got was they started using slate in the 1990's as a backing for the Coticule. In earlier years they used BBW for backing and glued it on to the coticule. Now for a short time in the 60's they used slate as a backing and that is about the timeframe my stone came from. What year they started using slate was brought up in the first post on the stone, and since I got info from the source I thought I would share it with everyone.

Oh and I did touch up my dovo on the Coticule first with slurry then without. Wo Ho she worked like a champ brought the edge right back after just a few passes. I took it to the leather after that and had no problem passing the HHT and it gave a great shave.
