You must have not done too well in English class.... no need for the indefinite article and you need an 's' to pluralize the word.
This lesson will cost you about.... I men a bout.

Bart had a long explanation, but I would give you slightly different perspective
With the barbers hone and the chinese stone you should be able to get excellent edge on your razors. a coticule would not automatically give you better results. If you're missing on the skills the different feedback from a coticule can help a bit, but I doubt it will be a dramatic difference.
Learning to properly use the hones you have is far more productive than getting new ones. But there is nothing wrong with experimentation if that's the way you like to go, just do it for the right reason and have the right expectations.

This being said what you're currently doing with the slurry is rather odd. Is it that you lack coarser hones that you're trying to mimic with a coticule slurry stone?

You are right, I have a dmt8ee for setting bevels but I think even that is to fine for my tastes, I have not raised a slurry on that yet though...
Maybe I should get a bevel setter because I know I have the tools on hand to smooth things out after that, even if it means reachin' for the newspaper.
