    Default need HADdict's help

Found this at a local antique store. Anyone know what it is and if it's worth picking up for $18?

Sorry for the sub-par pics best I could get with the phone:

Looks to me like it says "...minum oxide sharpening stone". (aluminum, I'm sure) Don't remember what the word underneath was...maybe "warranted"...something with an "...ed"

Jimmy, Sham? Anyone seen one of these?

    Thanks a lot!

It's an Aluminium Oxide synthetic. Not sure of the grit, but probably quite course.

Looks like what ben said is right. Maybe if you sharpen knives it isn't a bad deal ?
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanks, Gents. I was pretty sure I hadn't stumbled on an Escher, or anything good, but was worth a shot

I'll stick with my DMT 1200

They're fine for plane blades and chisels and, to tell the truth, I have used them for removing large nicks in razors. They leave gouges but that's irrelevant until you get down to the level of the nick.
