Because I know you guys love pictures
Well I picked up a couple coti combos on the cheap the other day. I posted about it here. I got them lapped up last night and here they are along with my others for kicks. The far left is a bout from Howard, then is a natural combo I picked up a few months ago. The 2 on the right are the two I just got. I particularly like the faint tiger stripes in the long narrow one. Oh, and up top is a slurry stone. Just another example of the many colors of a coti.

The really great thing is that since they are all different colors and hardness, you can never have enough coticules! Keep rockin'!

I am married, and the really cool thing is that my wife has more pairs of shoes than I have hones. I gently point this out when the heavy packages arrive, and my teenager gets home before I do, and rats me out to my better half! When the time comes that I have more hones than she has shoes, I will have to develop to a different strategy.

Well I just got married back in November so I hear about my spending already. Luckily I have no kids to rat me out though.
@ Croaker: Yes, she does have a lot of shoes! Thanks for the advice.
My wife knows how much they cost retail so as long as I'm getting good deals on the hones she doesn't mind as much. I keep telling her that I can sell them for a profit if needed. (Like that would ever happen.)
I also collect rocks and minerals, so when I get a natural hone I chalk it up to a purchase for both hobbies and cut the price in half.
"Honey, this $50 coticule is a natural rock. I only spent $25 on shaving stuff, the other $25 was for my rock collection."

Another tactic that I learned from my nearest and dearest, is when I buy something expensive, I announce the new arrival by saying" Honey, wow, I saved $200 today! When she asks how, I show her a high list price for the item I bought, then show her that I only paid half of the normal purchase price. I hear that a lot from her and her female friends; not how much they spent on something, but how much they saved! Great rationalization and I have used it too.
And please accept my heartfelt congratulations! I have been very happy with my wife, life partner, and best friend for 13 years now. I wish you many years of happiness together!Last edited by Croaker; 04-16-2009 at 08:14 PM. Reason: Forgot the most important thing!
