    Default Arkansas Hone

So I went to my barber that I hadn't seen in a few months. (I've moved and it is a 70 mile drive) and told him about me buying a straight and well he got all excited. And we played with our razors.
He had a hone that he called an arkansas stone. And gave it to me. Now I know absolutely nothing about hones. He said it was very expensive and a really good stone. And he said to hone your blade with a soaked stone.
So what do I really have. I've been surfing around and they say it is a natural stone. So the grit could vary. What I was really wondering is what can I do to determine how best to use this hone?
