    Default Hone clubs?

In reading back through many (many) posts in this section, questions pertaining to a certain hone seem to recur again and again. Eschers/Thuringians, coticles/BBW, Japanese water stones, DMT diasharp plates, Shapton, Barber hones, and the Naniwa supers off the top of my head.

It could serve to get all the knowlege about each stone/hone (best use, techniques, est grit) all in one place. That way, when someone disagrees about the best use for a stone (ex: Dragon's Tooth) they can know that it is different than what was said previously they can discuss why they differ because it is right there in the Dragon tooth's club thread.

    Just a suggestion.

Being a hone freak I'm not adverse to a hone club for each of the leading marques. Until that is instituted doing a search for a specific hone in the basic and advanced honing forums should yield the info anyone might be seeking.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

If there can be razor clubs, why can't there be hone clubs? I say bring 'em on!

I thought of this when I did a search on the thuringians, Eschers, Mueller Thuringians, celebrated water hones. NOS Thuringians, Vintage Thuringians, Mueller Water Hones, MST Thuringians....

I don't think I have it straight yet (not even close).

Sounds like a great idea! My spring cleaning is
going to exclude me from some of these clubs
    unfortunately...

I'm up for it. I have 1 or two from most of those groups.

I was reading through the "Coticule Chronicles" and that thread is essentially what I had in mind for a "Hone club". In fact, if this goes forward, it should probably be the first club in that forum.
