    Default distilled water

I was talking to a customer of mine yesterday he lives in england and is from greece. He has been using the same razor for 40 years and he says he tryed bbw coti and he did'nt like them personal thing as i do like them. But he says he uses only one hone from greece and it natural volcanic stone he could'nt remember the name but he said he will bring one back for me any one got any ideas what it could be?. The other thing he said was he always hones on pure drinking water as the lime in our water can be hard and have an efect on your edge i thought this was a good point any one else out there think the same and would say distilled or fiterd water can make a differance.

I hate water. Thats why I use spyderco.

That said, I've been using water instead of mineral oil on my dmts lately. Think I'm going to stick with mineral oil.

Could that be a Candia from Crete?

Lime in its crystalline form comes up on contact with oxygen.
So if you towel off your hones after use it should not be a problem.

Depending on your water source, water out of most taps occasionally has bits of grit in it. I use distilled water because I have ready access to it but even water from a Brita type water filter would eliminate that grit.
