Default Please convince me not to buy a Shapton 16k just to get free shipping

So I'm about to put in an order for a D8X and I realize I don't get free shipping. But...I don't have anything else to buy. Except that Shapton 16k... Shouldn't have bought that d6f off of amazon. That would have put me over the top.

Maybe. As long as someone doesn't say anything good about the 16k I think I'm safe. I'll just spend the extra $5 for shipping. wtf, I'm trying to spend $30 to save $5....

edit: Placed my order with amazon and the difference was $2.71

These tests are killing my brain!!!!!!

for the $99 price tag I honestly don't think it can be beat, as a finisher...

even if you go higher it would be tuff to beat

That of course is JMHO but I am allowed to have my opinion hehehe

Probably not. I'm going to break down and buy one eventually.

    Just not tonight!

Btw, can it be used dry? Or is that just silly? And how heavy is it? Can I hold it in my hand easily?

It is the one stone that threw me over the edge for a durable edge. I go to the 16K and paste down to 0.25 and then to 0.5 Chromium. My edges last so much longer now. It just makes your edge so stable.

    How did I do?

It isn't heavy and you can hold it in your hand to hone if that is your preference. If I was honing razors for other people I would definitely want to have one. Give me a bit of an edge on the competition if they don't have one. Pun intended.

I guess you have to be an old guy to know "sweet sixteen".
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
