Default A Sharp razor tells all.

After shaving today I thought I would bring up somthing that crossed my mind.
I bought a razor on ebay last week very pretty but in need of honing. I worked on it and got it to cut wrist hair. This AM tried shaving with what I thought I had gotten sharp. It was shaving, but I wasn't sure so I took out old faithful which I know is sharp enough. I could feel the difference right away. I will have to go back to the hone with my ebay razor
after all for some more work.
Now what I was getting to-- I was able to see that the razor wasn't sharp enough by being able to compare it to a sharp razor. I would encourage members new to shaving to buy a razor from one of the people on the site who sell them. You will get a razor that is shave ready and you will be able to feel the difference.
    OK off my soapbox.

I also have to agree, I am working on my sharpening skills and when I think I have a sharp enough razor, after shaving with it, I go back to the Great shaver and often find I need more work....
