Not even a stone!!
I bought this off eBay thinking I might be getting a pink coticule. I know coticules come from Belgium and this was labeled German. But I really didn't know of any pink razor stones from Germany.
I still don't.
If you are able to read the fine print, it talks about putting a few drops of water on the surface and then rubbing the "slate pencil" over it, then hone.
It isn't stone. and certainly not an X-hone
What it appears to be is a glass plate with a pink label fixed to one side.
Where do I get a slate pencil?
Does this fit in at all with the discussion about using pencil lead as a hone?

Thanked: 402huh!
Maybe with "slate pencil" they mean the ones we used to write on a slate board with?
Then they are probably talking about chalk.
You can probably use any kind of honing powder.

Thanked: 171I wonder if the slate pencil is only intended to freshen the surface before honing?
Hone with just water for now and tell us the results

Try it, try it, and and you may! Try it and you may I say!
It can't be too enigmatic if it is the only hone that an inexperienced man can useFind me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

A discussion about using pencil lead as a hone?
Pencil lead contains graphite which would probably make the worst honing media in the world. Its a lubricant and is greasy and the particales or grit would be too small anyway.
Why not just put some motor oil on your hone, same difference. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Did a search and they appear to be pencils used on slates as Olivia says. (BTW what is the latest on the Olivia hone? I can't remember the other name you are using. I'm tellin' ya, your missing out on a catchy name here. Could be the next Escher!). They are available on eBay for $10 each. I found our state historical society sells them for $0.45 each.
Who needs to fix up razors to raise money for Rad. 2,000% profit is what I say!!
I am not sure about using the glass plain. If glass alone would work you guys would have been using that for decades!!
Maybe I could put some Chrome Ox on it.
Maybe I'll do that tonight!

Thanked: 171I would try it without anything first, just for the heck of it... Maybe it's not just glass?
