    Default col Conk arkansas surgical

    Recently, I acquired a Col Ichabod Conk Arkansas surgical hone. What level of fineness would you believe this stone to be?The razor that came with it was not shave ready. I believe I may need another stone, or a professional honing job to utilize it.

    As far as i recall, they've been estimated at around 6k. They're a bit too coarse to be a finisher & most find the Arkansas hones a little slow. You may find you can use it though & even like it!

    EDIT: I recalled wrong. There's mixed info. Some suggesting 800-1000, then just about every figure up to 6k! Maybe save it for knives.
