Got a 3 line Swaty from the classifieds, it just arrived today. I've been wanting one of these things but they kept selling as soon as they were posted.

Swaty's are fun to play with, and they can even serve as finishing hones if you don't have anything else. Congrats on the grab.

I used to use one as a finisher, and it worked quite well. I found it put an especially nice finish on Sheffield blades. Just don't be afraid to put in quite a few strokes. I'm not sure where the 2-3 strokes suggestion came from (I mean, I know it's on the instructions, but I have no idea under what circumstances 2-3 would be all it takes... maybe when you feel the slightest pull).
