    Default Has anyone tried the Thuringian Whetstone?

    Original Escher Stone - Sharpening Stone from Germany

    I am asking about the one that is $100 for a 10" x 3" rock.

    I am wondering how it is as a finishing hone. I want to get something to use past a norton 8K to finish up a razor and this option looks OK. I know it isn't an Escher hone.

    Has anyone bought one of these? What are your thoughts?

    Thats a great size first of all.
    Yes, a Thuringian is a finishing hone. Its very fine.
    I don't have those but there is another thread with something about Timber Tools and what I get from there is that the man knows what he's doing.
