Default Report on Lansky Rubber Abrasive

The Lansky rubber abrasive came in the other day and it worked pretty much as I hoped it would.
I wanted to use it to remove stains and get into those little areas at the base of the grind where the small notches are around the tang. It removes stains and small rust spots well in these spots. You do have to put a little elbow grease into it on deeply stained areas but it works and it's fairly fast. You can also turn it on edge to get into the small lines cut into the tang they use for decoration. Also when you clean around the nomenclature on the tang you don't want to remove the company name etc so if you use this it makes it safer to make sure you don't remove to much.
These leave fine scratches when you bear down on it but they are close together and not deep so they are fairly easy to remove with MAAS and a polishing cloth or Dremel with a cotton polishing head.
At between $2.95 and $4 depending on where you find them it's an economical solution to take care of those aggravating hard to get at areas. They are approx. 2 1/2 inches long 1/2 inch or a little more thick and 1 inch wide. After using it for a total of about an hour it's not wearing down much at all so they should last a good while.
I hope this info helps and it works as well for others who decide to try one.
    Phil
