just a ever so basic precaution


now to these scratches or cracks

which direction did you say they lean?

This is interesting i am lost too.
i can say only it could happen your bevel setting hone is too corse(just guess)
it puts deep scratches but when you almost done with finishing hone cleans up the bevel and visiblei again.


To find out this is true check the scratch pattern and your honing movement if they match then i am right not i am totally wrong.
