I should say again. Properly honed razor should last at least 3 months without pastes.chro2 etc. (please note we are not talking about crappy razor 's)
Do you mean that by 10 shaves the razor, though not scary sharp, will still provide a smooth shave? I would very much agree with that. It might not be as sharp as when it was fresh off the hones, but will still shave well.
This part i am having problems to understand. what you mean scary sharp? and comfortable shave?
At the moment i am shaving only with 1 razor .i have shaved 11 times without any hone ,chro2 etc. only strop. i do strop a little longer now approximately 50. blade shaves exact same as day 1.
Lastly if you think your blade has been sharpen great and your stropping is excellent then Sorry i can't help. As long as you are satisfied with your blade that is all matter. GL

Let me kow how it goes with your one razor experiment (I assume it's an experiment?)

What I meant was that after several shaves a razor will clearly not be performing at it's peak, the peak being an edge when it's fresh off the hones and/or pastes (commonly referred to as "scary sharp" etc). Keeping a blade at that optimum level of sharpness could be perceived as high maintenance, and I'm sure most guys are not honing on a daily basis (save for barber hone use). It doesn't really matter, as once that peak starts to drop off slightly a razor will still provide close comfortable shaves for quite a while, even before hitting it with some chrome. It's when you let the edge go TOO far that you end up spending more time honing then you bargained for, and I think we've all been there. That's all I was referring to.

As for your statement about how a blade "should" not need any attention whatsoever for 3 months, well I don't know about that. If you're talking about using only one razor daily, and assuming you're shaving once a day, we're in the neighbourhood of 90 consecutive shaves before you even think of using pastes or hones. Please clarify this as it seems to me that you either a) are on a multy-razor rotation, or b) have a face made of hardened leather by now, or c) are in possesion of one magical razor
