    Default Honing trouble

It has taken me three months with the on shave ready razor I have to get the best shave of my life. I have found geart advise on the site.
I now have three straights from ebay and one that was from my grandfathers. I have tried to hone with out luck. I have a carborundum after using it on one of the ebay razors I can get it to take hair off arm just really pulls on the face Help is needed in Dallas Area

If all you have is a carborundum it would depend on the condition of the razor to start with. That is for touching up a sharp edge that is starting to go south on you. Setting a bevel and then sharpening and polishing would best be done with a set of waterstones like the Naniwas, Nortons or Shaptons.

Have you read any of the tutorials in the SRP Wiki on honing ? Take a look at those if you haven't read them yet and you'll see what I am talking about.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
