    Default Honing/sharpen service in NYC

Hey - I live in NYC and am looking to get my razor sharpened/honed. Can anyone recommend a free or inexpensive honing service. Ideally I'm looking for a shop that can hone for free and a place that sells different products that I can buy and someone I can talk to about everything in person.

    Thanks!

Feel free to put up a wanted ad in the Classifieds, and to search the member services there as well

I would check the classifieds here at SRP before I trusted the run of the mill cutlery shops, I have heard too many horror stories already! I would also check out your previous thread, for more advice about stropping.

I can hone a few razors for you as well, if you don't find anything.

I have looked for shops in the NYC area too and only found the one as described above. I dont think they hone but am curious as to what you find out.

Keep us posted if you find anything good. I think I will just send mine out to Lynn and pay the vig and postage back and forth.

At least I know it will be done correctly. I am actually looking forward to honing myself some time soon once I can afford some stones.
