Thread: Felt pad thickness - is 1/8 enough?

Do I need anything thicker than 1/8 for a satisfactory bench hone setup?

I can't see how the razor would know how thick the felt is on a bench hone. I'm sure it's been tried, so maybe someone will chime in. (For a hanging strop it would matter because thin stuff would stretch and deform.)

I don´t think you will have any problems with your felt.
Mine is very thin, too.
And I have to say, my 60.000 Diamond puts an awesome edge on razors,
wich it prevoiusly on leather did not

remember, put just a little bit of paste on the felt.
You don´t want to put layers on it...
my 60k diamond is 2% and still I had to put on just very little
