Thanked: 1Unicot????
Anyone ever tried honing on nothing but a coticule? In the first step is he pushing the razor forward (as normal) and back honing on the return?
Looks risky..
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
thanks

Do you drag the razor back or are you lifting it up? It would be great if this worked...as i only have 1 stone and its a coticule.

Bart's Unicot method worked for me. His new website here is a work in progress but I think it will soon be a masterpiece. A very welcome place for all coticule lovers.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

No lifting of the razor: it stays on the hone.
I does work. But please... try it at least once exactly as layed out in the thread JimR linked you to. I love experimentation, and I love adventurous people.
Just don't try to outsmart the procedure before you fully comprehend it. Every step is there for a reason.
Good luck,
Bart.
