Default Uneven sharpness along the blade

Hello friends. After a few months of SR shaving I decided to buy a touch up solution for my 2 razors, because daily stropping was starting to be inefficient to keep the blades. So before ruining the blades and not being able to hone them I bought a balsa strop with 0.5 diamond paste.

This thing really works, I made 10 passes and the blades are really sharp again, probably sharper than ever. Both razors passes the HHT easily now, but one of them (my Dovo Ebony Square Point) is not that sharp at the top of the razor, the first inch approx. from the point, which is the part that I use more when I shave....

What can I do to correct the uneven sharpness? Is it OK to strop partially on the balsa strop only with the point part? Should I strop the whole blade again? The rest of the blade is quite sharp, and I dont' want to oversharpen it.... Any advice is welcome!

    common problem

Yes or no. yes partially strop will not hurt except help but will take soooo much time you will get tired of doing so. Better way is partially hone and carefull check it very often then strop.
Should I strop the whole blade again?
when you done fixing dull part it is ok to strop
The rest of the blade is quite sharp, and I dont' want to oversharpen it.... Any advice is welcome!
You can do a little more complicated trick (i am not sure about how much complicated) tape the good side of the blade and hone dull side. in this case you can use whole length of the blade.don't do this please you may run more trouble.
    hope above will help.

I ran into the exact same problem and called Lynn on the telephone to ask the exact same question. The big difference is I was not using balsa and paste but waterstones.

Lynn told me to do 80 circles on each side of the blade and then the x stroke with pyramids as per the instructions in the SRP Wiki honing section here. This worked like a charm and the razor was soon scary sharp from heel to point.

What to do with only balsa and diamond paste is beyond my level of expertise.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

may be that part of the blade is'nt making good contact. i'd just lap the very part thats not sharp how wide is your balsa wood if it was a narrow one that would get the full edge are you doing x pattern if not try that.
