Well, it's guaranteed for life and they sharpen free, so youmight have something to fall back on.

    Why not go for it?
I think I've seen them on barber supply websites, and perhaps one, in person. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if it came off of Dovo's line, though. Joe also has a point....no Paki razor I've seen comes with a lifetime guarantee....let alone free sharpening.
based on that alone I'd be willing to try one. Whats to lose?

    Default Mehaz razor

I agree I am going to hone this baby and see what happens. Maybe it will be like Korndogs razor from hell the edge has oxidized and deteriorated. I will hone it off with the 1000 and then refine it from there. If that doesn't work I will send it back to the company with only the spine (back) remaining. LOL

The Mehaz International looks remarkably like the Fromm International 72R razor. Stamping on the tang is identical. The nicer Fromm 50 has the same Solingen inlaid into the handle too but the tang stamping is different on that model.
It is implied that Dovo makes the Fromm but they will not give me that in writing. I sell a lot of the Fromm razors and most will easily take an edge.
I am replacing them with Hen & Rooster razors as soon as my current supply is gone.

I don't know if you saw this post, but Hen and Rooster is using China for some of their knives:

There are some decent knives coming out of China. I have a little mini-pocketknife with a cheap handle, but very nice blade on it ....

China? Well I ralize they make some decent stuff but I will need to be clear on where my Hen & Rooster razors come from first or I won't be selling them. I was under the impression these at least were still German made.
    I will find out.

Default Mehaz razor (a belated answer)

Well, gentlemen I finally got this SOB to shave petty good.
I finally just did my own agressive honing. I honed it 20 or so laps on the Norton 220, 1000, 4000, 8000 and the Shapton 12000, .50 micron diamond paste on a paddle strop, leather strop. That put a real fine edge on it as far as the thumb goes. What is weird is after each honing round I looked at it with a 150X microscope to see what was going on and after each one the edge still had a minute irregularity but the striations kept getting smaller/smoother which was expected. Under 100X the irregularity wasn't as noticeable. However, regardless of the minute irregularity in the edge it shaves pretty well probably within 85 to 90% of my TI's.

Thanks for all of your help. Guys this is a really fun hobby/sport/addiction/whatever.
