Default My very first single-handed honing...

Today I managed to hone a razor using only right hand. In the past I was using my left hand to even the razor on the stone. But I believe that from now on that's history...

Congratulations. I just recently switched from two hands to one myself.

There are actually some who do use both hands to hone. I am not one of them however. Those that do use both have figured out a way to do it without applying uneven pressure, I think.
I always thought honing should somewhat resemble stropping. I have never stropped a razor with both hands either.
So I am not sure there is a right way and a wrong way, as long as the end result is the same, JMHO.

    Enjoy!

I found holding the hone in my hand really helped me to learn how to hone one handed. Now, honing with the hone on the table feels very awkward to me and I have to hold it in my hand. I don't think it really matters how you hone, because this forum has clearly shown me that there is no one "right" way to do anything. I really prefer to hone with one hand as I find it more comfortable, but some get along just fine using two hands. It's really what works for you. But I'm glad that you're happy and that it's working for you.
