    Default hones, hones, and hones

well guys i finally did it today. i dropped 250 on the hones i need. i ended buying a DMT 325, naniwa 1k,5k,8k,12k. so now this will bring me up to the following. DMT325/naniwa 1k/norton 4k/naniwa 5k/ naniwa 8k/SRD barber hone/naniwa 12k. i have an old barber strop with canvas. i also have a granite surface place of lapping. so now i need ot make a few bench hones. i was looking at maybe a felt one and a leather and balsa. not sure yet. but what stinks so bad about this is i leave for school in a week and the 1k is on back order lol.

That's exactly what everyone says in the beginning stages of HAD....wait till you see a decent price on a coticule....that swaty is only $25.....I'd spend that on Pizza.......

uh huh.... but to really restore razors correctly you need the right tools for the job.

A good coticule is hard to beat, as is an Escher, or a Japanese natural. Furthermore, some razors seem to be very picky about the final finisher stone you use.
