What Hone Do I Need??

I have a few razors that I just sent over to be re-honed and spent about $60. It did not take me long to figure out this is something I need to do my self to save money. I have been asking around about what I need. As always I have gotten some different answers. I wanted to ask you guys what you thought.

What I think I want to do is just touch up and be able to keep my razors shave ready.

I have been told I need a norton 4k/8k. I have also been told I need a naniwa 12k.

What are the pros and cons of both of these hones for the application I have planed? Also, I may want to expand my capabilities as a honer in the future so I want the hone to fit in then also.
