say Fellas!
Its me running off at the laptop again.I decided to take advice given and shop for a better straight razor.Right now Im using a disposable again and hating it.After using a shave ready Master USA(which doesnt hold an edge well)the comfort, closeness, lack of shaving bumps(common among African-Americans),and overall economy of a straight razor make it a viable alternative to disposables. That being said, what type of store can I find a Norton4k/8k stone? What are some of the best straight razors out there which represent great value per dollar without breaking the bank?Lastly, who the hell makes Tomahawk razors?Who the hell makes Zeepk?

The norton is best found at amazon.com.
For quality and not a lot of money, you can't beat the classifieds. Or if you want something new, head over to straightrazorsdesigns.com and pick up the Dovo Best Quality. Can't beat the value for money there.

The Norton can also be foud at woodcraft. They have a website, and if they have a store near you you can save some time and money (on shipping).
Best bang for the buck in a razor will be anything vintage. You should be able to get something that is shave ready for $30 on the classifieds, or maybe less... I've sold razors that are ugly but solid shavers as low as $25.
I don't know who makes Tomahawks or Zeepks; all I know about them is to stay away.

Thanked: 1262I would not worry about buying any hones yet, aside from maybe a barber hone and pasted strop.
As far as razors... What is your budget?

Welcome to SRP. I agree that honing is something to concern yourself with after you've got the stropping and shaving down. Also buying a quality shave ready razor be it new or vintage.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
