Thread: Honemeister - New Zealand

Does anyone out there have info on Honemeisters, or honing services in New Zealand?

I'm the only active Kiwi on here, I believe (Dunedin). AFAIK, there are no honemeisters from New Zealand. I'm slowly getting some hones together, but am nowhere near starting learning to hone, let alone classing myself as a honemeister.
Your best bet is getting one of the Aussie honemeisters to hone for you initially, and picking up a set of hones to teach yourself with while you use the professionally honed blade. Once that's blunted you should hopefully know enough to be able to hone it up yourself. I think Onimaru from here hones for people, check out the classifieds to find other Aussie honemeisters.

That really helps put things in perspective. It is kinda hard sometimes not to blame my lack of skill on an inanimate object that can't object.

I haven't been able to find any Honemeisters here, I'd go for one in Aussie.
