Default Naniwa 8k Super Stone has a crack

so i recently bought an 8k hone to touch up my razors. and i got all set up to start honing and after the first pass i made i noticed a small crack in the hone. it doesnt go very deep at all and i dont think the place i bought it from will take returns of used items (classic shaving). it doesnt look like it could be from shipping as its not very deep and its a very fine crack. so will this small crack effect my honing by alot? (i assume it probably will) although when honeing one of my razors i didnt feel any bump or anything.

you mean Naniwa 8k Super stone?
I have never heard of those cracking, they are resin bound and the only way to crack is impact (personal experience). The only flaw of those stones is they bend(if you use baseless versions) when they get too thin.

it´s hard to tell, but if you can´t feel a bump it will probably not effect your honing. If the crack doesn´t go deep, you might as well lapp it out?
I would anyway contact the vendor and tell him the problem.
If he doesn´t replace it, well you at least told him

mine had a base and it was packed well so i dont think impact could have caused it. how exactly do i lapp a stone?
