Thread: A Good Example Of A Frown

I wish I had snapped a pic of the blade I am working on now at the beginning. It had started as a smiler, but had a frown in the 1/2 of the blade nearer the tip.
I have used 3 layers of tape, lots of time, and it has improved a lot. It is no longer extra hollow ground however. It still needs some spine work.
It is good to have a coarse DMT and some wider hones for this.

I've never shaved with a blade that had a frown like that duck. I'm thinking that it would be very easy to nick yourself with a blade with a frown like that.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 96I don't imagine it would be too bad, so long as you back angled it when using the toe and kept skin taut. Now if you tried to shave up your neck without stretching the skin using the full blade, well, then bad things might happen.

Thanked: 603A good example of a "frown" circled in orange:
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.
