I was browsing Lee Valley on line and checked out their sharpening section. Pleasantly surprised to find they carry Norton waterstones at very good prices.

Also being Canadian, it makes it faster and cheaper to order for us Canadians, eh. The shipping is amazing. I ordered stick sanders on Friday night and received them Monday morning.

Yeah, Lee Valley is where I picked up my Norton (there's one in town, so I actually went there to pick it up).

When I went to the cash register with the stone, the girl told me it was fifty-some dollars. I was like, "Hmph. The web site said eighty, but oh well!" So I paid and left. When I got outside, though, I thought, "Wait, this doesn't make sense," and took a closer look at what I had purchased. Turns out I got the 1000/4000 stone. That would have made for some rough shaves! So I went back in and got the other stone. The woman behind the counter brought me the right one the second time.

When I bought my Norton there the guy double checked with me before seeing if they even had it and the cashier wanted to make sure it was the stone I wanted before she rang it up. I think it's an unpopular purchase.
