I'm sure someone will chime in, in the mean time, check out Lynn's vids or you could order his DVD. Also, there is a recent thread with a link to HeavyDutySG's honing demo series, which is up on youtube.

It was just recently posted in a thread called "This helped me when I was a newbie" or something. I'll look.

I wish to thank you all for the wealth of information you have bestowed upon me. It has been a tremendous help. But , it would still be nice to learn a few things with someone looking over my shoulder (could save a few razors lives).

    Thanks again,
    Peter.

Peter, I live over a thousand miles away so I can't do you any good. That said, I got lucky and had a honemeister 30 miles from me who allowed me to come over his house and he showed me stuff I might never have figured out for myself. If you can find someone who knows their stuff and is willing to show you it could make a lot of difference in your progress. The member map here shows a lot of guys in your area. You could try PMing some.

It's unreal... As many times as I have been through the Wiki there is all kinds of stuff I missed.

I'm gonna be watching some videos for awhile now.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.
