    Default Will This Hone Work

I found this sword hone on ebay, and was wondering if it would work for a razor. I know samurai swords require precision honing just as razors do, and figured that a 1000 grit stone is a 1000 grit stone, but wasn't sure.

If anyone has used one, or knows something about it, I like to hear your thoughts on it.

    Thanks,

    Dave

If it is a 1k stone I don't see why it wouldn't be a good bevel setter.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I'd say it should probably work, but I don't know. 1k is typically a bevel setter, but maybe it's too soft or too hard or has inconsistant grit. I typically avoid anything that is cheap or unknown because I don't want to risk throwing money away. Even the most expensive 1k's are not expensive when you consider the amount of use you'll get out of one before wearing through it, so it's not something I'd skimp on.

what have been said before me is right. i would add only please don't try to learn faster. Try slowly and have patience. Razors are really different from knifes and swards.
i would say take your time.
