    Default First Hone a success

After reading all over this site and watching all the great tutorials I ordered a set of Norton stones. I sharpened an old razor that belonged to my grandfather. I was able to get it as sharp as a "shave ready razor", but I am used to sharper. So i went into the barber today and he let me use his Arkansaw ultra fine stone and his finishing stone along with a little tutorial. I also cleaned up another razor I have and they are both perfect. Can't wait to shave. And it looks like I need to order a finishing stone. I have several other razors I have picked up and am ready to try some restoration.

    congrats!

Nothing beats the feeling of fixing up a blade to how you like to shave with it.
