Thanked: 1My first hone
Hi
I just want to say a huuuuuuuge thank you to all the people in this community, specially to those that helped creating the wiki.
Yesterday I took my Wade & Butcher (I got from ebay in a nice shape) and took it thru the pyramid process starting at 20/20 on a Norton 4k/8k combo stone.
After that I stropped it 60 times in a linen strop and then 30 times on my leather one.
I was excited to test it, but at the same time I was afraid of the results... I took a hot shower, prepared some rich lathe with my Taylor of Bond St. cream, I applied it all over my face and then my first stroke with the recently honed/stropped blade... and it was fine!!
I managed to shave my face without any feeling of dragging or burn, without making any pressure with the razor, it was so far one of the best shaves (if not the best) that I have ever had.
So maybe it's not as sharp as it could get, but to be the first time I'm pretty happy I managed to get a fine shave with it.
p.s.
I used the Taylor of Old Bond St. Sandalwood after shave lotion and I felt like throwing alcohol to my face, although it didn't produce any irritation at all and the smell was pretty good.
p.s.s.
Any advice to improve my technique is very welcome.

Nice to hear that you're getting good results with the honing and shaving. As you keep on your technique will improve in all areas. Practice makes perfect.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
