Thanked: 286lapping
I use dmt c to lap every hone i own. Now i am thinking of investing in to a 220k norton. I'm not sure what to use to lap such a coarse hone. Could i use my dmtc? if not any advice will be great.

Thanked: 20I'd say just get a DMT D8XX... the Norton 220 grit is not good at all. You'll end up lapping it more than using it... Or just use your D8C to lap AND to hone...

Gary, I don't know but I wouldn't risk a diamond plate on the 220. I would throw some sandpaper on top of the plate if I was doing the 220. If I have something that needs that coarse a grit I just use my DMTC to remove serious chips or whatever.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
