    Default Honemeisters in Denmark?

I have relocated to Denmark, and was curious if anyone has any ideas on where to send my razors for honing. I've been here about 4 months and the two razors I brought with me are starting to pull a bit. A friend here mentioned having them sharpened at a knife shop, but I am a bit weary of that. Also, I know there are some UK members offering their services, but I am not quite sure about taxes and such for getting them returned. Denmark can charge some nasty fees for receiving items that are over a certain value through the mail. I've learned that one the hard way. Anyways, any thoughts on what my options might be? Thanks

Whatever you do, dont send your razor to a knife guy! There are myriad threads here about just that topic and people have had their razors wrecked by knife sharpeners using the same techniques on the razor as they would on a knife. Just avoid!

I dont know of any honemeisters in Denmark, but you might check the members map and see if there is anyone nearby who can help you.

Good luck and keep us posted!

We do have some members from Denmark. I don't know if any of them hones pro.

You might also try to ask in the Nordic group.

I thought I remembered reading something along those lines. When my friend here recommended that I take them to a knife shop I had a feeling they wouldn't be able to improve the edge, since they are already sharper than any regular kitchen knives.

I will have to look into this. The items I was charged fees for were sent from back home in the U.S., so hoopefully I can avoid them by sending to a honemeister in the U.K.

I am from Denmark, copenhagen. I do not consider myself a honemeister, but I have honed for some years, and I do not consider myself a beginner either.

I will be happy to hone your razor for you.

No taxes will be charged by danish customs, on purchases made within EU countries.

If you do by from i.a. USA, try and have a friend buy the stuff for you and have him send it to you as private mail. That can sometimes get you out of taxes.
If you do buy from a vendor i.a. SRD, add about 38% to the total cost (including shipping! ARGH), and that gives you an idea of the tax you need to pay.
